2. Teacher points at the elephant and says, “Look at the elephant! What’s it doing?” Ss answer, “It’s walking.” Teacher writes the word-walking down. Use the same way to teach “jumping” and “running”.
For Ss, the picture of “Let’s learn” is familiar. So it is easy for them to say “walking”. The point is to ask Ss to imitate the teacher and describe what the tiger and the frog are doing.
3. Say a chant
Walking, walking, the elephant is walking.
Running, running, the tiger is running.
Jumping, jumping, the frog is jumping.
It’s an easy chant. Let Ss practice the three words and sentence pattern with fun. Make full use of the bodies and minds. Ss will learn these new contents easily.
4. Look and say a new chant
Ask Ss to use the sample chant to make a new one.
It’s not only to review the words learnt, but also to inspire Ss’ creativity.
5. CAI shows a bird flying. Teacher asks, “Look, what’s this?” Ss answer, “It’s a/an….” Teacher says, “It’s a bird. The bird can fly. What else can fly?” Ss give out more examples that can fly. Teacher says, “Yes, there are many things can fly. And the bird is flying.”

sp;to teach “flying”. As a mater of fact, Ss have learnt this word. So to them, it’s not difficult. And Ss can use their imagination to fine out as many things that can fly as possible, which also helps them to review some words learnt before.
6. Use the same way to teach “swimming”. And ask Ss to pay attention to the spelling.
7. CAI shows some points that we should remember while swimming.
It’s added to let Ss form a sense of self-protecting.
Step 3 Practice
1.Game: Guess- What is it doing?
CAI shows the pictures and teacher asks several Ss to answer.
2. Practice the sentence “Look at the…. It’s…!” in pairs.
The two steps are complementary. The first is presented among some good Ss as a demonstration. So it will be easier for Ss at different levels to practice in Step 2.
3. The 2008 Olympic Games
CAI shows Ss some pictures of some athletes, such as Liu Xiang, Yao Ming. And ask Ss to use “Look at…. She/He is…!”
This will be an exciting part. These athletes are familiar to Ss. They are willing to say something about these famous persons. So it will easily help them to practice the words and sentence pattern. Besides, the sentence pattern “She is…” is the point of next lesson. So this step can be a bedding to next period.
Step 4 Consolidation and extension
Summarize the whole lesson and arrange the homework.
1. Make a funny book on P64.
2. Finish the exercises on exercise-book.
3. Practice writing the words on copy-book.

Anyway, the teaching of this lesson aims to develop not only the Ss’ language technical abilities, but also the intelligence by integrated teaching methods.
As teachers, to make our English classroom shine with vitality, we are laid with heavy burden, and we still have long way to go.
