Lesson 63:Christmas Is Coming!

 教学目标：                                                    

  1.知识目标：

Words:decorate,under,without,tent.                         Phrases: put up,by the way.                       

2.能力目标：

⑴ Let Ss master words and phrases correctly.

⑵ Retell the text.

3.情感目标：Learn about the culture of defferent countries and costoms.

难点:

Ask the students to make cards for their parents and teachers.

教具: a small board, a recorder

教学方法: group work

学法: cooperation ,

Teaching steps:

Step1: Greeting

Step2: Lead in

       Listen to:《Happy New Year to you》the song.                    Ask questions. such as: What is this song about?          Ask some Ss to answer, then show the title.             Step3: Presentation .

⑴ When is New Year’s Day?                                     ⑵ When is Christmas Day ?                            Check the answers.                                    

3.Let Ss read the text quickly. Then let them answer the questions.

They may discuss in groups.

⑴What do people do before Christmas Day ?

⑵How do people decorate a  Christmas tree?

⑶Is Christmas Day the same as New Year’s Day in China?

⑷When did Christmas tree begin ?                       Check the answers.

4.Play the audiotape. Have the class follow along in their texts.

5.Ask the students,“All kinds of foreign festivals have come to China including Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. How do we Chinese celebrate those two days?”Let the students discuss in groups.

6.Ask if they have any questions that they don’t understand. If any, first let them discuss in groups and then explain to them.

Christmas is coming! Merry Christmas! Go at the top,on Christmas Day, in the 1600s.
