Unit 6 At the zoo

 

Teaching aims and demands:

1.     能听懂,会说一些含有简单形容词的句子,如:

Look at the elephant. It’s so big.

It has a long nose and a short tail.

I have a rabbit. It has long ears.

The giraffe is tall. The deer is short.

并能在实际情景中运用。要求模仿正确,语调自然。

2. 能听,说,认读名词giraffe, deer以及形容词big, small, long, tall, short, 并能在实际情景中恰当地运用。

3.           能听懂,会说以下国家或物品的英文缩写PRC, CAN, UK, USA, CD, TV, VCD等。

4.          能听懂所接触的指示语,并能按照指令做出相应的动作。

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The first period

Teaching topic: Section A Let’s talk. Let’s practice.

Teaching steps:

Step1. Warm-up/ Revision

1.     Greetings.

2.     Sing the song “Hide and Seek.”

3.     Read the letters by cards.

Step2. Presentation

1.     Say the chant. “I have a pencil. Me too.” Revise the animal words: cat, pig, monkey, mouse, panda and so on.

2.     Teach: big, small, so. Look at the pictures. T: Look at the pig. It’s big. It’s SO big. Pay an attention to the word “ SO”. T: Look at the mouse. It’s small. It’s SO small. Then help the pupils say: Look at the cat. It’s so fat. Look at the monkey. It’s so funny.

3.     Teach “long”, “short” and “It’s has ---” Show the pupils a toy monkey and revise the words: eyes, nose, ears, mouth. Then help the pupils say: Then monkey has big eyes. It has big eyes. It has small ears. It has a big mouth, etc. Then help the pupils use the word “and” to say: It has big eyes and small ears. The teacher points at the monkey’s tail and says: Look, it’s a tail. The monkey has a long tail. Now re

4.     Listen to the tape and read the dialogue.

2.     Divide the pupils into four groups to describe the animals. For example: Look at the monkey. It’s so funny. It has a long tail and a big mouth. It has big eyes and small ears.

The key points: The pupils can read and say these new words and sentences.

The difficult points: The pupils can finish “ let’s do.”

Teaching tools: pictures, cards, a ball and tapes.

Teaching times: one period

Teaching steps:

Step1. Warm-up/ Revision

1.     Greetings.

2.     Guess animals. T: Listen to me, children. Guess what it is. It has a long nose. It has big ears and a short tail. Ss: It’s an elephant.

3.     Act the dialogue.

Step2. Presentation

1.     Show the pupils a small ball. T: Look at the ball. Is it big or small? Help the pupils answer small. Then show the word small and teach it. Show the pupils a picture. T: The pig is big. Teach “big”.

2.     Show the picture to revise the words long and short.

3.     Listen to the tape and read the words.

Step3. Practice

1.     Spell the words. S-M-A-L-L—small. B-I-G—big , etc.

2.     Game: The pupils describe the animals in pairs.

3.     Let’s do.

4.     Game: Pass the sentence with low voice. For example: Big, big, big. Make your eyes big.

Step4. Add activities.

1.     Listen to the tape and read the words and the sentences.
