Read and write:
John: I have a new e-pal. He’s from Beijing.
Mike: Really? What’s he like ?
John: He’s tall and strong. He’s very helpful.
Mike: Is he honest?
John: Yes, he is. Look,this is his photo.
Mike: Oh,is this a football?
John: Yes.He likes football,and he likes music and math,too. He is good at math. .
Mike: Cool!
设计
思路
根据新课标理念,以PEP教材为蓝本,自编了本教学内容。本课结合时下所流行的网友这一话题,以谈论网友为主线,逐步引导学生运用英语完成一个个有实际意义的语言任务。通过说唱,游戏,小组合作等形式来让学生对网友这个话题有一个综合的认识,提高学生听说读写等综合语言运用技能,并通过创设情景,使学生在仿真的情景中运用所学语言,从而达到巩固与运用语言的目的,逐步培养学生阅读和写作的能力。
教学
目标
1.能听说读写单词e-pal,helpful and honest。
2.能听说读写描述人物外貌和性格的单词。
3.掌握四会句型“He/She is good at…..”理解篇章意义。
4.能熟练的询问或描述网友的外貌,性格,爱好和特长。
5.在学习过程中注重培养学生合作学习的意识,培养学生合作学习的态度和方法。并对学生进行网友间要以诚相待,以及不沉谜于网络的思想教育。

2. Free talk
T: Hello,boys and girls.I’m Miss Xu.I’m from Lishui.Where are you from?Who’s your friend?What’s he/she like?Is he/she funny?He/She likes……..?
(以QQ宠物图片为奖品分到各小组,图片背后写着信息供小组活动。)
Step 2 Presentation
A :Teach“helpful”
a. T:You have many friends.I’m your new friend.I have some gifts for you.球“不小心”掉到地上,叫学生帮忙捡球呈现单词“helpful”
b. 出示helpful词卡
c. T:Who is helpful in our class?
S1: …...is helpful.
(以写有helpful的奖章为奖品贴在学生胸前)
B:T:Here comes an helpful friend.(利用简笔画在黑板上画出人物头像)Her name is Kathy.In her name each letter is to describe her.“K”is for “kind”.Can you spell it?What about “a”,“t”,“h”and “y”?
Ss:“a” is for “active”.“t ”is for “thin” and“ tall”.“h” is for “helpful”and“ honest”.“y” is for “young.”.
C:Teach“be good at”
a.T:Kathy likes music.Anything more.Please guess.
(通过简笔画的逐步呈现,猜测Kathy的爱好。)
Ss:She likes math.
T:Yes,she likes math,and she is good at math.
b.出示is good at 词条。
c.Play a guessing game.
T:Who is he/she?He/She is good at…….Please guess.
Ss: He/She is good at……..
T: Who is good at …….in our class?
(出现几副明星的照片,让学生猜测他们的特长。同时询问学生的特长。最后出现老师自己的照片,让学生猜测老师的特长。)

齐唱与话题相关的歌谣,既活跃课堂气氛,又复习了前面所学的内容。
询问学生的朋友,并发给奖品,不但激发了学生学习的积极性,也为下面的环节作铺垫。
通过游戏呈现生词,能帮助学生更好的理解和掌握单词。
通过Kathy这一名字,既复习了有关外貌性格的单词,又能激发学生积极思维。同时呈现生词honest,并进一步巩固单词helpful。
通过简笔画的逐步呈现,培养学生的发散性思维。
通过猜测性活动,既能激发学生积极思维,又进一步巩固了He/She is good at…….这一新句型.同时也为下面的环节作铺垫。

通过谈论学生喜欢的网友,教育学生交网友时要以诚相待。
通过判断Yes or No的形式,复习了描述人物外貌,性格和爱好的句型,同时也培养了学生的阅读能力.
通过读一读,写一写,练一练,锻炼学生的听说读写能力,单词和句子在这里得到了及时的巩固。
利用日记的形式把对话转化成文本,为学生完成后面的任务提供了写作的模板。
此活动联系实际,通过让学生完成一个生活化的任务,培养学生综合语言应用能力,同时也培养了学生的自主学习能力和合作精神。
把写这一任务分成三个等级,满足不同层次学生的需求。让每一个学生都能跳一跳摘到桃子。
这一活动旨在教育学生交网友时要慎重,要学会合理使用网络,让网络真正成为帮助学生进步,五年级上册英语My New E-pal教学设计
