　　所谓"食"就是指一个天体被另一个天体或其黑影全部或部分掩遮的(de)天文景象。日食主要有日全食、日偏食及日环食三种。日食发生的(de)原理是地(de)球上的(de)局部地(de)区被月影所遮盖而造成的(de)。日食必发生在朔日，即农历的(de)初一(朔)。这是因为只有在那一天，月亮才会出现在太阳与地(de)球之间的(de)连线上，这样才有可能使月球挡住太阳而形成日食。同样地(de)，月食一定出现在望日，即农历十五。
